USDA Acreage and Quarterly Stocks Report- June 30, 2017

Soybean planted area for 2017 is estimated at a record high 89.5 million acres, up 7 percent or an increase of 6.1 million acres from last year.

Corn planted area for all purposes in 2017 is estimated at 90.9 million acres, down 3 percent or 3.1 million acres less than last year.

All Wheat planted area for 2017 is estimated at 45.7 million acres, down 9 percent or a decrease of 4.5 million acres from 2016. This represents the lowest total planted area for the United States since records began in 1919.

USDA quarterly stocks report indicates that as of June 1, 2017, USDA estimates U.S. corn stocks to be up 11%, soybean stocks up 10% and all wheat stocks up 21% compared to June 1, 2016.
