Old crop soybean stocks in all positions as of September 1, 2018 totaled 438 million bushels, up 45% from September 1, 2017. This estimate was higher than most analysts were expecting.
Old crop corn stocks were down 7% from a year ago, totaling 2.14 billion bushels. However, this estimate was also higher than analysts had expected.
All wheat stocks were up 5% from a year ago, totaling 2.38 billion bushels.
Durum wheat stocks increased 37% from September 1, 2017 to 90.6 million bushels.
Barley stocks decreased 3% from a year ago to 175 million bushels.
Oat stocks went up 4% to 74.9 million bushels.
Old crop sunflower stocks were down 35% from a year ago at 386 million pounds. Of that, the oil-type were down 42% from September 1, 2017 and the non-oil type were down 3% from a year ago.
